Prevent Falls in the Playground With Rubber Matting
It wasn’t too long ago when our kids were playing on the jungle gym with only the concrete or grass below their little bodies. This never used to faze kids of course as the idea of getting hurt or the consequences of a fall never really entered a kid’s mind.
Playing around without the protective measure in place was an all too common occurrence in schools. In fact, it wasn’t that long ago when kids would be seen push-biking along the streets on their way to school or home without a safety helmet on. Bare feet were certainly not out of the ordinary either.
After a lengthy, on-going spell of incidents leading to injuries, the alarm bells sound and eventually the powers at bee jump in to intervene. This certainly applies when it comes to our kids.
Falls, trips and spills among school kids are as common as the flu. There’s nothing stopping kids from these incidents but fortunately, there is a way in which to prevent them from hurting themselves. Playground rubber matting is now a regular addition to most playgrounds throughout the world. In fact, all public playgrounds also have this safety measure in place.
Rubber matting not only breaks their fall enough to minimize injury to mainly bruising, rather than cuts and breaks. This essential addition to the playground also helps prevent kids from slipping when it’s wet, thus reducing the likelihood of injuries further.
It’s difficult to convince a kid to stop playing at the best of times. Whether it’s raining or cold, or the kids have the flu or a stomach bug, trying to keep them still can be challenging. The least we can do is ensure their surroundings are safe.
